On Monday, October 13th, Industrial Repair Service hosted its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament & Fundraiser in partnership with Love Kaleb Inc. at Polo Golf & Country Club. The event honored the memory of Kaleb Duckworth, son of Industrial Repair Service’s Shop Manager, Tommy Duckworth, who left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Together, the tournament and community efforts raised over $10,000 to support Love Kaleb Inc.’s mission of helping families in need.
The day commenced with a light breakfast buffet including yogurt, granola, scones and assorted pastries, and melon, followed by Bloody Mary’s, sponsored by Titos.
After registration, opening statements were given by Tommy Duckworth on behalf of himself and his wife, Amanda Duckworth, thanking everyone for being a part of the special day and reiterating the mission of Love Kaleb Inc.: to ensure families in need across Georgia don’t feel they’re alone. There was overwhelming excitement among all attendees as the shotgun start began the tournament.
Throughout the day, there were raffles filled with prizes, including self-care baskets donated by local businesses, cookware utensils, backpacks, duffels, and picnic blankets for outdoor activities. Silent auctions included a year of free chicken salad from Chicken Salad Chick, an Embassy Suites Halcyon 2-Night Stay, a set of golf clubs, and much more!
Boxed lunches were placed on each cart, and golfers enjoyed their wraps on the green. After a long day of swings and course roaming, attendees made their way inside for drinks and dinner.
Hors d’oeuvres such as spring rolls, raviolis, and caprese were passed around at 5 PM, and at 5:30 PM, awards were given to the tournament winners and the last-place team as a token of their exemplary sportsmanship. Dinner was served, and the menu included beef, salmon, and salads.
Each attendee left with a goodie bag that had Industrial Repair Service merchandise (koozies, pens, screwdrivers, and notepads), and our master sponsors also received an IRS golf towel. All of Love Kaleb’s proceeds will go towards offering financial and emotional assistance to families during the holidays, hosting community events, and providing scholarships to students at Lumpkin County Mountain Education Chartered High School.
Tiffany Weiberg, Assistant Sales Manager of Industrial Repair Service, ended the wonderful day with a closing statement thanking everyone for their time. The team went above and beyond, and all participants are excited about next year’s event!
