It should be no surprise that Halloween is a holiday favorite for autumn lovers, and nothing screams spooky vibes like a movie night. Here lies our guide to hosting the ultimate Halloween film party:

One can’t have a movie night without… a movie! Classics like Hocus Pocus, Ghostbusters, and Beetlejuice are family-friendly options, and you can’t go wrong with the legendary Addams Family. If you’re looking for a TV series, Wednesday’s second season premiered in August on Netflix, and another teen favorite for years has been The Vampire Diaries. For more intense movies, The Conjuring and IT are sure to have you screaming in fright, and perhaps even giving you a nightmare or two once the party is over.

Prepping for a night of thrills is only made more exciting with themed snacks and drinks. “Monster Mix,” a combination of popcorn, pretzels, candy corn, and chocolate chips, is a great grab-and-go option (to the couch). It also takes no time to put together. If you’re looking for something heartier, “Mummy Dogs” (crescent-wrapped hot dogs) are the way to go, and a spooky charcuterie board is a mix of sweet and savory, and will fill guests up. To accompany the snacks,  “Witch’s Brew” (a green soda with gummy worms) is a kid-friendly drink, and if you’re looking for a more adult option, a mulled wine that’s often drunk heated can be found at many local grocery stores during the holidays.

For the setup, blackout curtains, floor pillows, bean bags, and fairy lights build the perfect ambiance, and chunky knit blankets create a cozy atmosphere among the fear. Pumpkins, fall scented candles, and skulls are great décor pieces, and craft stores often have easy Halloween projects to liven up spaces.

Dim the lights, grab a sweater, and don’t forget your candy stash because Halloween only comes once a year, and it deserves to be celebrated. “Manufacturing is more than just putting parts together. It’s coming up with ideas, testing principles, and perfecting the engineering as well as final assembly.”
