Meet Tiffany!
What’s your favorite part about working at Industrial Repair Service?
I’ve had a lot of rewarding experiences here, but if I had to narrow it down, I’d say traveling with the team has been one of the biggest highlights. Just this year, I’ve had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles with Ashley Bernon and Chicago with Cindy Messler, meeting customers and seeing firsthand the people we support every day. Watching how much our customers value their partnership with us, and realizing the impact Industrial Repair Service has in keeping their lines running, has been both humbling and incredibly rewarding.
What’s a hobby you’d like to try but haven’t had the chance to yet?
One is learning how to crochet; I can just picture myself making a cozy blanket while sitting by a fire. The other is learning to play the guitar. Both feel like the kind of things you’d do on a quiet evening, with a fire going and maybe my dogs curled up next to me. I love the idea of creating something with my hands or music, while just relaxing and enjoying the moment.
If you had an extra hour in the day, how would you spend it?
Honestly, if I had an extra hour in the day, I’d love to spend it reading. There’s something so relaxing about being transported to another world, whether it’s trying to solve a mystery or cheering for an adorable couple to end up together. It’s my perfect way to unwind and escape for a little while.
What’s a personal motto or quote you live by?
“Work Hard. Play Hard. Pray Hard.” -My Mom. She always said this to me and my brother growing up, and over the years, it’s really become a part of how I approach life every day. It reminds me to give my best at work, enjoy the fun moments, and stay grounded along the way.
What’s one thing most people here don’t know about you?
I’m a two-time gold medalist in the Middle School Math Olympics, so I guess you could say I’ve been a proud math nerd since way back then. Fun twist: in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, I was the only girl in my grade, which is probably what sparked my love of sports! Looking back, being surrounded by numbers and football, kickball, or volleyball (or whatever game was happening) taught me that you can be both a thinker and a doer, and love every minute of it.
If you could go back to your first day here, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
When I first started, I didn’t have any experience in this industry, so there was definitely a learning curve. I think I would encourage myself to make it a point to ask all my questions sooner, take detailed notes, and learn more from the amazing people around me. Growth often starts with being willing to learn and asking the right questions.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve overcome here, and how did you tackle it?
Whew—challenges pop up every day! One that really stands out is learning to work with all sorts of personalities across teams. I’ve learned that staying flexible, listening carefully, and adapting my approach is key. Sometimes it’s a little tricky figuring out the best way to communicate with everyone, but adjusting to different styles has taught me a lot about collaboration and made tackling challenges much more manageable (and sometimes even fun)!
What’s your favorite memory or moment from your time at IRS so far?
My favorite memories here are from our Thanksgiving lunches. It might sound basic, but I love that we all get to share a home-cooked meal together and truly enjoy one another’s company while gearing up for the holiday season. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, so getting to celebrate it with my work family makes it even more special.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Tiffany a little better, and we look forward to sharing next month’s spotlight with you. Stay tuned!
